The Top Trends in Coloured Gemstone Jewellery for 2024

Interesting 2024 trend predictions incoming šŸ“Ø

Big shout out to Stuart at @nineteen48 who supplies some of my amazing gemstones. He shared these exciting 5 gemstone trend predictions made from Brecken Branstrator during a talk at the American Gem Trade Association.

1ļøāƒ£ The next trending colour gem will be green! šŸ’š

Of course I love green - you can't be called Jade and not love green stuff! But actually I do really love the amazing scope of greens available to me as a jewellery designer from the lightest, softest seafoam aquamarines, to the deepest, most intense hues of a good green tourmaline. Iā€™m definitely on-board with this coloured gemstone trend!

2ļøāƒ£ Price resistance will lead to non-traditional stone popularity with designers (me!šŸ‘‹šŸ»)

There's no denying that certain stones are $£$£ sky-high at the moment, but I've always loved looking past the BIG 3 popular gemstones (Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire) to see what magical and beautiful coloured gems are available to us. This is because I want to create tailored, unique jewellery designs - and my clients feel the same way!

3ļøāƒ£ Growing appreciation for independent cutters/unique cuts/ new cuts for traditional stones šŸ’Ž

Oh those cutters - they really are the most talented people, they look at a dull lump of rock and bring the magic out of it! Check out @excessdesign for Troy's amazing non-traditional gem cuts!

4ļøāƒ£ More retailers and designers travelling to the source šŸ“

Well Covid curtailed my first trip, but no doubt there will be others to the source!

5ļøāƒ£ Increased attention on marketing claims and greenwashing.

I know how important it is for you to trust what you're buying, and I want you to feel 100% confident in me and my jewels, which is why I give you the full story on each gem - to me their story is part of the sparkle!

What are YOUR thoughts on these predictions? šŸ¤”
