12th Wedding Anniversary Gemstone Gift: Jade (and Alexandrite)

Two rather special gemstones to mark a twelfth wedding anniversary -

The best Alexandrite has this magical effect of changing colour depending on the light source you wear it in, so a gem that looks green in daylight, might take on a reddish hue in candlelight.

Jade represents luck, wisdom, stability, and love. This stone ensures a long life, perfect for celebrating a 12th wedding anniversary. (and I’m rather fond of it as you can imagine)! I was lucky enough to try on a £250,000.00 Jade bangle the other day, just a plain band of Jade - but oh what a divine range of greens!

Jade doesn’t have to be quite that expensive, so there’s a piece out there with you name on too.

13th Wedding Anniversary Jewellery Gift: Citrine

Citrine is like a little drop of sunshine! A warm golden yellow that suits being set in white or yellow metals. But what’s this … have you heard of Ametrine? So yellow Citrine and purple Amethyst are both types of colourful quartz, and sometimes they both appear in the same piece of quartz - how cool is that!

Arrange a consultation with me today to design a bespoke jewellery commission using the sunshine citrine (or ametrine) .

14th Wedding Anniversary Gift: Opal

Opals have this magical ability to be all the colours at once. Whether the background colour is white, blue, black or fiery orange, there will be magical flickers of other colours flashing around the stone. A mathcing pair look awesome in cufflinks, or earrings, and a large organic shaped opal looks stunning surrounded by diamonds on a necklace.

Here’s a gorgeous opal that flashed such gorgeous blues and turquoises that I surrounded it with an array of bluey, greeny Paraiba Tourmalines. Truly a one-off piece and ready to adorn the neck of your wife. Or why not arrange a consultation with me today to design a bespoke jewellery commission using a beautiful and unique opal.

15th Wedding Anniversary Gift: Ruby

Sapphires come in almost every colour, except red that is … because they are called rubies! Yes, red sapphires are so rare, they get their own name.

Now this lovely 3.59ct ruby on the right is rather special - it is independently certified by GRS as ‘No Heat Pigeon's Blood’ (the best colour classification for rubies, and even rarer that it has had no heating treatment). It boasts top clarity and good cutting.

3+ carat Rubies are extremely rare in pigeon's blood colour and free of any treatments or enhancements. This is a classic investor piece. Actually a real bargain at ~$110,000.00. It was mined on the 15th September, so if that’s your anniversary - get in line!

But seriously, rubies are a lot more affordable around the 1 carat mark, and they look so stunning in jewellery, so arrange a consultation to design a bespoke jewellery commission with me. I can help you to find an incredible ruby at your price-point to celebrate your fifteenth anniversary!

Although if you do want to bring this amazing ruby into your life (happy wife, happy life, very happy Jade), let me know!

16th Wedding Anniversary Jewellery Gift: Peridot

Peridot is the gem-quality variety of the mineral olivine, which forms deep inside the Earth's mantle and is brought to the surface by volcanoes. But olivine has also been found on Mars and in cosmic dust, so its a pretty well travelled mineral!

Peridot is a beautiful yellowy green and it suits warmer skin tones.

Olly Vine is also the name of my cousin, so I think he should commission me to make some cufflinks! Anyway, moving on … It’s a sublime stone and at a great price-point that means even sizeable peridots are good value!

Arrange a consultation with me today to design a bespoke jewellery commission using beautiful peridot for your sixteenth anniversary.
