This beautiful 18ct white gold chain bracelet features a bezel set trillion cut 1.22ct colour change Alexandrite and four bezel set diamonds (total weight 0.4ct, F colour and VS2 clarity).

“Emerald by day, ruby by night,” Alexandrite is well known for displaying one of the most remarkable colour changes in the gem world — green in sunlight and purple/red in incandescent light.

I spent well over a year hunting for my ideal Alexandrite! And this one fits the bill perfectly. I bought it from an amazing gem dealer in London in September 2019 and then sent it for specialist lab testing and certification.

Alexandrite is relatively hard—8.5 on the Mohs scale. It has excellent toughness and no cleavage, (which is a tendency to break when struck). This makes it a good choice for rings and other mountings subject to daily wear.
