Big shout out to Stuart at @nineteen48 who supplies some of my amazing gemstones. He shared these exciting 5 gemstone trend predictions made from Brecken Branstrator during a talk at the American Gem Trade Association.
1️⃣ The next trending colour gem will be green! 💚
Of course I love green - you can't be called Jade and not love green stuff! But actually I do really love the amazing scope of greens available to me as a jewellery designer from the lightest, softest seafoam aquamarines, to the deepest, most intense hues of a good green tourmaline. I’m definitely on-board with this coloured gemstone trend!
2️⃣ Price resistance will lead to non-traditional stone popularity with designers (me!👋🏻)
There's no denying that certain stones are $£$£ sky-high at the moment, but I've always loved looking past the BIG 3 popular gemstones (Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire) to see what magical and beautiful coloured gems are available to us. This is because I want to create tailored, unique jewellery designs - and my clients feel the same way!
3️⃣ Growing appreciation for independent cutters/unique cuts/ new cuts for traditional stones 💎

4️⃣ More retailers and designers travelling to the source 📍
Well Covid curtailed my first trip, but no doubt there will be others to the source!
5️⃣ Increased attention on marketing claims and greenwashing.

18ct White Gold Ring with 3.27ct Green Tourmaline and Diamonds
A beautiful 3.27ct cushion cut bi-coloured Green Tourmaline, set on an 18ct White Gold claw set band. Mounted with a single tapered baguette cut Diamond to each side, totalling 0.4ct (F colour and VS Clarity).
Ring size N: I can arrange complimentary re-sizing up to two sizes larger or smaller.

18ct FairTrade Rose Gold Pendant with 4.78ct Mint Tourmaline and Diamonds
A wonderful minty green 4.78ct Emerald cut Tourmaline, set on an 18ct FairTrade Rose Gold Diamond set pendant loop. Total Diamond weight (3 stones) totalling 0.04ct (F colour and VS2 Clarity).
A very clean stone. I purchased it in March 2019. The stonecutter was called Bear, but I’m assured he’s not grizzly at all!
18ct White Gold Pendant with 2.32ct Pale Mint Tourmaline and Diamonds
A wonderful minty green 2.32ct cushion cut Tourmaline, set on an 18ct White Gold Diamond set pendant loop. Total Diamond weight (32 stones) totalling 0.20ct (F colour and VS2 Clarity).

18ct White Gold Bracelet with 1.22ct Trillion cut Alexandrite and Diamonds
This beautiful 18ct white gold chain bracelet features a bezel set trillion cut 1.22ct colour change Alexandrite and four bezel set diamonds (total weight 0.4ct, F colour and VS2 clarity).
The Alexandrite in this bracelet:
“Emerald by day, ruby by night,” Alexandrite is well known for displaying one of the most remarkable colour changes in the gem world — green in sunlight and purple/red in incandescent light.
I spent well over a year hunting for my ideal Alexandrite! And this one fits the bill perfectly. I bought it from an amazing gem dealer in London in September 2019 and then sent it for specialist lab testing and certification.
Alexandrite is relatively hard—8.5 on the Mohs scale. It has excellent toughness and no cleavage, (which is a tendency to break when struck). This makes it a good choice for rings and other mountings subject to daily wear.
This gorgeous 18ct white gold pendant features a vibrant trillion-cut 0.84ct Tsavorite Garnet (h:6.59mm w:5.96mm d:3.46mm), surrounded with a halo of brilliant-cut diamonds and a line of diamonds set on the pendant loop. (A total of 0.25ct diamonds, F colour and VS clarity). It comes with an 18ct white gold curb link chain.
A beautiful 2.31ct trillion cut Tsavorite Garnet, (h:8.27mm w:8.01mm d:5.49mm) set on an 18ct white gold band, surrounded with a halo of brilliant-cut diamonds, totalling 0.2ct (F colour and VS Clarity).
18ct White Gold Pendant with 2.01ct Teal Green Sapphire
This beautiful 18ct white gold pendant features a natural, untreated cushion cut 2.01ct sapphire, surrounded by 30 brilliant-cut round diamonds, weighing 0.4ct total.
It is mounted on an 18ct white gold chain.
This lovely cushion cut sapphire is 2.01ct and 7.16mm high x 5.97mm wide x 4.28mm deep.
It was mined on the 19th March 1988. Mining Location : Tanzania. A photo of this actual Sapphire in the rough (i.e. before cutting and polishing) is on the mining report. It was cut by master cutters in Nairobi and then sent for laser inscription and GIA certification.
I purchased it on the 10th January 2020.
18ct White Gold Pendant with 4.03ct Green Tanzanite and Diamonds
This beautiful 18ct white gold pendant features a rare and beautiful pear shaped 4.03ct Natural 'Fancy' Green Tanzanite, set with split claw mounts within a brilliant-cut diamond micro-set halo and pendant loop.
There are 23 diamonds (total diamond weight 0.3ct, F colour and VS clarity).

This beautiful 4.03ct pear shaped Natural Green Tanzanite is 11.44mm high x 8.55mm wide x 6.67mm deep.
This Tanzanite was mined on the 8th August 2014. Mining Location: Merelani, Tanzania. A photo of this actual Tanzanite in the rough (i.e. before cutting and polishing) is on the mining report below.
It was cut by master cutters in Tanzania and then sent for laser inscription and GIA certification in Kenya.
I purchased it on the 19th September 2017.
18ct White Gold Pendant with 1.88ct Pale Green Tanzanite and Diamonds
This apple green Tanzanite was discovered in Merelani, Tanzania on the 1st June 2019. This rare stone will show tones of green, blue, violet and yellow, depending on the light.
It was cut by master cutters in Tanzania and then sent for laser inscription and GIA certification in Kenya. before I purchased it on the 2nd August 2019 to design the beautiful 18ct white gold pendant pictured.
Set in a split claw mount, within a brilliant-cut diamond micro-set halo and pendant loop - (35 diamonds: total diamond weight 0.16ct, F colour and VS2 clarity) - the beauty of this princess cut, natural 'fancy' pale green Tanzanite gemstone can’t be ignored. It hangs from an 18ct White Gold curb style chain.
I wanted this gem to be the centrepiece of an Art Deco style pendant. I designed this necklace to stand out from the crowd – just exactly as a unique piece of jewellery should.

This beautiful 1.88ct princess cut natural pale apple green Tanzanite is 7.64mm high x 7mm wide x 4.5mm deep.
