My gem cutter said: These don't come along every day. Tanzanites in the 3 carat range which are commonly available in the market are generally medium grades with a somewhat desaturated colour. When miners find crystals of this size displaying top colour intensity, it causes great excitement!

Cut directly on the blue axis, it exudes a high intensity, almost alive blue. In incandescent light red flash fills the stone. Flawless, beautifully cut. An exceptional Tanzanite in all respects.
